Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW) is a grappling system created by Sensi Erik Paulson, the 5 times light heavy weight Shooto Champion in Japan. This extremely unique system incorporates elements and philosophies across the martial art spectrum into a dynamic and effective grappling system that dominates in the ring and as a self defense system!

CSW Pulls elements from Multiple Martial Arts Including:

  • Catch Wrestling (Sometimes called Catch-as-Catch Can)
  • Japanese Shoot Wrestling 
  • Freestyle & Greco Roman Wrestling
  • Japanese Judo
  • Russian Sambo
  • As well as striking techniques from:

Adult CSW Classes are open to all adults. Beginning Late August 2018.

Kids CSW Classes are open to all Kids but must have an interview with a coach before being accepted into the CSW Program. Classes begin late August 2018

About Sensi Paulson

Coach Erik Paulson was the 2 time light heavy weight Shooto champion in Japan (Including being the first American to Win the Title) and the Creator of our Affilate Programs: CSW Combat Submission Wrestling  and  STX Kickboxing Programs. His Headquarters school is located in Fullerton, California where he and his team train martial artists of all ages as well as professional Fighters (Including some famous ones like: Sean Sherk, Ken Shamerock, Josh Barnett,  Brock Lesnar & Ben Jones.)

What is CSW? What Will I Learn?

Put Simply, CSW is grappling art that focuses on Dynamic Takedown and Throws to take an opponent down to the ground. Once on the Ground, students learn to control their opponent through strong positions, body holds, and submissions. All while using powerful strikes.

Is this Jiu-Jitsu?

Short answer is simply "No". While CSW shares some similarities with No Gi Jiu-Jitsu, CSW is a completely different system & minds set from Jiu-Jitsu. CSW pulls from a wide variety of styles but its major Back Bone is Shoot Wrestling / Catch Wrestling. A

Do we Rank in CSW?

Yes! Our CSW program has its own ranking system that students will test through! CSW Levels are 1 - 10 and each rank has its own T-Shirt that goes with it.  The Ranks Go 1. White. 2. Yellow. 3. Orange. 4. Green. 5. Blue. 6. Purple. 7. Maroon. 8. Grey. 9. Brown. 10. Black. 

What do we wear to CSW Classes?

Most classes are taught in Athletic Shorts / Fight Shorts or TKD Pants and either an Academy Shirt, Affilate Shirt, or CSW Rank Shirt. Rash Guards* are optional but highly recommended. Wrestling Shoes* and Helmets* are Optional 

* most be approved by a Coach to be worn in class.
