A great martial arts instructor teaches punches and kicks. A Great Mentor teaches confidence, perseverance, respect, and leadership. At Cho's TKD, our mission is not simply to create great martial artists. Our mission is to help students develop the skills and character they need to succeed throughout life.

Master Cho began his martial arts journey under the guidance of his father, Grandmaster Kya Ha Cho, and his uncle, Grandmaster Hee Il Cho in 1982. Throughout his competitive career, he earned numerous local, state, national, and international championship titles, establishing himself as one of the most accomplished competitors in the Cho family tradition.
In 2004, Master Cho opened the doors of our Copperfield Academy with a simple mission: to provide students with the same values, discipline, and opportunities that martial arts had given him. More than two decades later, that mission continues to guide everything we do.
Today, Master Cho dedicates his time to developing not only skilled martial artists, but confident leaders, respectful young adults, and individuals who understand the value of hard work, perseverance, and integrity. Through his leadership, thousands of students have discovered the life-changing benefits of martial arts training.
Master Cho believes that martial arts is about far more than punches and kicks. It is a vehicle for developing character, building confidence, and preparing students for success in every aspect of life.
What Students Learn From Master Cho

Master Blackbourn began his martial arts journey in 1995 under the guidance of his father, a martial artist himself. In 2006, he joined Master Cho at our Copperfield Academy and has dedicated his career to teaching and mentoring students ever since.
With more than 30 years of martial arts experience, Master Blackbourn has trained in a wide range of disciplines including Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Submission Wrestling, Kali, Boxing, and other combat arts. While his technical knowledge is extensive, his true passion lies in helping students develop the confidence, discipline, and resilience needed to succeed both on and off the mats.
For over 20 years, Master Blackbourn has helped shape the next generation of martial artists and leaders. Whether working with a nervous beginner taking their first class or a black belt striving for excellence, he believes every student is capable of more than they realize.
An active member of the greater martial arts community, Master Blackbourn is an Affiliate Instructor under Sensei Erik Paulson’s Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW) system and Guru Bob Breen’s 4D Combat system, continuing his commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
